Business as usual
On behalf of our partners and all our staff, I Just wanted to offer you a final few words of thanks for your help, support and encouragement after the fire which hit our surgery in April.
We are almost back to normal now – with just the flooring and the suspended ceiling to replace internally, and the buildings work on the roof to finish.
But all our staff have been back working at the surgery for a while now; and we have written to thank our colleagues at Lockswood Surgery and Fareham Community Hospital, who allowed us temporary use of their rooms and facilities and without whom we would really have struggled to continue our services to you as successfully as we did.
They say adversity brings people closer together, and how true this was for us.
We know the fire resulted in inconvenience for a number of you, and frustrations getting through on the phone to us for a while. But thank you so much again for your patience and understanding of the situation.

|Each patient who uses eConsultation will receive a request via email to complete a survey regarding their experience of this service seven days after their eConsultation. This email survey will come from the eConsult provider not Brook Lane Surgery.
Please Note: This service is intended for our patients who are 18 or over and in the UK at the time of using e-Consult – and not those who are overseas for any reason.
The practice regrets that it cannot offer telephone or email consultations to patients who are outside of the UK, and for legal reasons we are not in a position to deal with any clinical issues involving patients who are abroad. If you are travelling abroad, you should ensure that you have adequate medical/travel insurance. In the event that you require medical assistance, you should seek a local service and inform your insurance company as appropriate.
On return from your travels, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery if you need further assistance and bring any relevant medical information relating to the episode with you.
If you’re travelling in Europe, apply for a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which may give you access to reduced cost medical treatment in Europe. For more general information about healthcare abroad, go to the NHS Choices website (www.nhs.uk) and search for ‘healthcare abroad.’
